WHAT WE BELIEVE

Here at New Hope we are considered a nondenominational church meaning that our doors are open to any and all denominations to join us as we worship and talk about our God. Although we don’t align ourselves with a denomination, we do have a set of beliefs that are the base work of our faith and the teachings each week.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17), meaning that the Bible was written by God through the hands of man. We acknowledge the Holy Trinity and believe that God is one within the Trinity comprised of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

We believe that God created man in His image (Genesis 1:27), but know that man is sinful and in need of salvation to rescue us from our sinful nature and the consequences that come from our sins (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23). We believe that our salvation comes through Jesus Christ the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25).

We believe that the crucifixion of Christ did happen and that it is through the blood shed on the cross that we are saved (Romans 5:9. Ephesians 1:7). We believe that Christ did die on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3, 1 Thessalonians 4:14), but three days after his burial he was resurrected (Romans 14:9, 2 Corinthians 4:14).  It is through Christ that we are saved, only Christ had the power to save man from his sin (Hebrews 7:25).

We believe salvation is a choice, and man must accept God’s gift of eternal life to save his soul (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe that those who accept this gift are granted eternal salvation and everlasting life (John 5:54, Ephesians 4:30). Lastly we believe that Christ is coming again (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
